We are based in Littleham (near Bideford, Devon), was formed in September 2006 by Paul Wilkinson, a musician with over 25 years experience of Brazilian & Cuban percussion, including extensive training in both England and Brazil. 

 

The aim of the band is to perform Latin American rhythms to the highest standard, using authentic instruments & traditional techniques, whilst incorporating modern advances in the genre, both in style and content.

 

The members of Vamanos are experienced musicians who share a common passion for this infectious style of music; entry to the band is by audition only.

 

The band's repertoire includes the powerful & energetic Samba Batucada from Rio, the hypnotic & trancey Afro-Cuban 6/8, the sensuous sounds of Bata & Cuban Carnival, & a funky fusion of Hip Hop/Cuban/Brazilian percussion.

 

Vamanos perform at festivals, parties, carnivals, weddings, nightclubs etc all over the South of England and Europe The band also provides samba workshops, excellent for team building & the development of leadership skills, for both educational and corporate clients.
