Formed in July 2009 Samba Diversao is simply about having fun whilst playing Samba. We are actively seeking new members, experienced or inexperienced it doesnt matter as long as you want to have fun.We practice every Tuesday 7-8.30 in the Performing Arts Studio.
The Haylestorm Samba Band will start practising at Redruth Youth Centre, in the grounds of Redruth School, on Wednesday evenings between 8pm and 9.30pm.
It costs £1.50 a week – or £1 for children under 18 – to cover costs, but the first week is free for people to try.
The group is led by 17-year-old Ben Ford, who teaches different tunes and Brazilian rhythms on various drums and percussion instruments.
Energia is a community based samba band based in the South West, dedicated to bring the rhythms of Latin America to a wider audience. We are a voluntary organisation who members contribute to all aspects of the running of the band.
An open access community based percussion group. Founded in 2000, currently 25 members. Beginners and experienced players are welcome. Workshops are held on Saturday mornings in Penzance. In the warmer months we take part in many festivals and parades in Cornwall including Truro Carnival, Lafrowder day, Newlyn Fish Festival and BBC Music Live.
