a bloco with dancers on 2 levels: - professional group 6-15 performers for stage shows/recording - samba, hiphop, funk, salsa, afrobeat ... anything that is possible with samba instruments (and some stuff that is not). vocalists include godfather of uksamba Bosco De Oliveira, underground hiphop sensation Mystro. - community group 10-75 performers for stage/street - samba, soca, funk, reggae.. as ambitious as imagination allows. well known for collaborations with mandinga arts - full sound system in carnival parades brings english-language music to the masses, craftily arranged for Brazilian percussion. most of ROTC members are professional musicians, dancers, teachers or music students. the band started in 1999, directors of many other samba groups have learnt at ROTC over the years.
