Paraiso's 2008 costumes were unveiled at Paraiso's packed 6th Birthday party on 26 April.

Paraiso led the 2008 Luton Carnival parade on Monday 26 May and thrilled the crowd in spite of the rain. This was the first of 5 major carnivals which form Paraiso's 2008 tour supported by Arts Council England. Next stop Bielefeld Carnival in Germany.

Anyone who's been to the Rio Carnival will have seen Sorriso. He's the sambadrome street sweeper who dances samba and featured on an Orange advert in the UK. He came to Paraiso's Queen of the Bateria competition with the cast of Brasil Brasileiro. Here's a clip of him dancing with Marcos.

Oddly enough, I rarely go to concerts, primarily because I've been disappointed so often and at great cost. However, I make exceptions every once in awhile. On September 24th, we ventured up to Manhattan for Bjork's Madison Square Garden concert. She was incredible, as was Mark Bell. This mix is divided into two sections. Act I is if I had any input on the evening's set list. Act II is a close approximation to Bjork's playlist. However, she deviated from album arrangements (as always), so don't expect some black market stream from the show. In any case, please do enjoy. If you are familiar with Bjork, I hope you rejoice in this mix, as I'm sure Christina, Mariana, and Sean will. If you're not very familiar with her music, take a trip down this musical path, with an open mind and willing ears. I assure you it is all worthwhile.
