Samba Pelo Mar

Samba Pelo Mar Whitstable’s open access, not for profit, community samba band was formed in February 2007. Since then our colourful band has gone from strength to strength, performing at many varied venues across the district including the opening of Whitstable’s famous Oyster Festival and the Canterbury Festival.

In April 2009 we were successful in gaining a lottery grant from Awards For All. This has enabled us to expand our diverse band, whilst learning a repertoire of uplifting and dynamic samba rhythms under the expert guidance of our Maestra Ann Day.

We rehearse every Tuesday from 7-9. New members are welcome, instruments and costumes are provided.
