Bristol Samba

40 strong Bateria playing samba reggae, afoxe and an assortment of original pieces.

The band boasts a fine tradition of live performance, and has taught drumming and dance to hundreds of people over the years, through membership of the band and leading percussion workshops open to all. The music and the rhythms are derived from and inspired by, the traditional carnival music of Brazil but have been adapted to reflect a diverse range of modern and traditional musical styles.  Established in 1986, our performing credits include St Pauls Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Notting Hill Carnival, WOMAD, Shambala. The band raises the spirits at private and public events large and small, open air and indoors. Still going strong!
