| Beatroots was established in 1995 and plays a mixture of rhythmic styles centered on samba reggae but also mixing in African, Asian and other Latin-American rhythms as well as fusions with hip-hop and bhangra. Beatroots plays at many festivals, parades and gigs around the south of England, including WOMAD. Workshops are held on Tuesdays at Plug ''n'' Play studio, 35 Milford Road, Reading, Berks from 8:00 to 10pm. Beatroots holds regular beginners workshops called Samba101 which features a workshop, gig and DJs. New drummers are always welcome - no experience necessary - all instruments provided. |
