| >Named after the Portugese for noise, we''ve been rattling windows in Brighton and the south of England since Carnival Collective''s "Beating Time" community drumming project in May 2000. Led by Pat Power and Tamlyn Wiltshire, we play a variety of Brazilian, hip-hop, ragga, bhangra style beats. Loudly. Highlights have been irritating the Countryside Alliance marchers in Parliament Square, disturbing shoppers in Tunbridge Wells, Portsmouth and Slough, torchlit processions in Lewisham, Oxted and Brighton, and playing alongside so many sambistas at both Brighton Samba Encounters. |
